Child custody trial for Alex Jones and ex wife to last 2 weeks

Polarizing radio personality Alex Jones has a following of fans who enjoy his conspiracy theories and political commentaries. However, his attorneys in an ongoing child custody trial claim that he is a different person outside of the studio. While Jones has quite a few listeners in California, many may not know that he is fighting to retain full custody of his three children.

In 2015, Jones and his wife divorced. After recordings suggesting abusive conduct by the mother surfaced, the parties agreed that Alex would have full custody of their three children. She is now petitioning the court to modify its prior order by granting her full custody, claiming that it is Alex who is actually the abusive parent. It is alleged that Jones' radio persona is not much different than his behavior around his children, which calls into question his ability to parent.

In rebuttal, Jones' attorneys argue that his radio show is only a job and that he plays a character that is not indicative of who he really is as a father. The judge has refused to allow some recordings from the show as evidence, ruling that they were not relevant. However, she has ruled that other recordings are admissible, including some that concern one of his children and another about excessive alcohol consumption. Furthermore, there is purportedly a clip that features the radio host removing most of his clothes, and the attorneys for the mother claim Alex has displayed similar inappropriate behavior in his private life.

The mother currently has limited access to the children due to two allegedly emotionally abusive rants that were preserved on recordings, one of which was recorded by the mother herself. The child custody trial is expected to last an estimated two weeks, and it remains to be seen how the court will rule. Family law attorneys can assist California parents who are struggling with child custody issues so as to achieve a result that best meets the needs of the children.
